  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for breadcrumbs)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tbsp parsley, minced
  • ½ lemon, zest only
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for pasta)
  • 375g sausage
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp fennel seeds
  • Salt & dried chili flakes, to taste
  • 450g short pasta
  • 140g tenderstem broccoli
  • 80g grated Parmesan or Grana Padano

  1. In a frying pan, heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for a few seconds.
  2. Add breadcrumbs, parsley, lemon zest, and salt. Fry while stirring occasionally until golden, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package directions. For the last 5 minutes, add tenderstem broccoli to the pot.
